Nous and vous

The French pronouns nous and vous are both five different types of pronouns. Nous is the first person plural form, and vous is the second person plural.

Direct object pronouns

Elle nous voit.   She sees us.
Je vous connais.   I know you.

Indirect object pronouns

Elle nous parle.   She’s talking to us.
Je vous dirai demain.   I’ll tell you tomorrow.

Reflexive pronouns

Nous devons nous changer.   We need to change clothes.
Vous pouvez vous changer ici.   You can change clothes here.

Stressed pronouns

Il l’a fait pour nous.   He did it for us.
C’est vous qui avez gagné.   You’re the ones who won.

Subject pronouns

Nous avons bien joué.   We played well.
Vous avez bien joué aussi.   You played well too.
