-ci Suffix
Unlike other French suffixes, -ci does not create new words, but rather adds additional meaning to the nouns and pronouns it's attached to. 
Demonstratives are adjectives and pronouns that refer to or replace specific nouns, as in “this chair” and “that one.” French also has two suffixes that help distinguish between nearby objects (this, these) and objects that are farther away (that, those).
