Does sans que require the subjunctive?
Yes, sans que requires the subjunctive.
Par exemple…
Je peux y aller sans qu’elle le sache.
I can go without her knowing.Je ne peux pas y aller sans qu’elle ne le sache.
I can’t go without her knowing.
Why le in front of sache? It’s the neuter object pronoun.
And why ne in front of le sache in the second example? It’s the ne explétif.
Sans que is a conjunctive phrase.
