Malgré que

The Subjunctivisor!

Does malgré que require the subjunctive?

Yes, malgré que requires the subjunctive:

Par exemple…

Je suis venu malgré que je n’aie pas vraiment le temps.
I came even though I really don’t have time.

Malgré que is used by many native speakers, but is in fact a mistake and should be avoided. The correct expression is malgré le fait que and follows the subjunctive rules for le fait que.
