Does ignorer require the subjunctive?

Normally, ignorer does not take the subjunctive. According to Le Bon Usage, however, the subjunctive is also possible, especially when used in the affirmative or the past:

Par exemple…

Ma famille ignore que je suis / sois fiancé.
My family doesn’t know that I’m engaged.
