Être persuadé

The Subjunctivisor!

Does être persuadé require the subjunctive?

Être persuadé may require the subjunctive, depending on whether it is used affirmatively, negatively, or interrogatively:

Par exemple…

Je suis persuadé qu’ils font du bon travail.
I’m convinced that they are doing good work.

Je ne suis pas persuadé qu’ils fassent du bon travail.
I’m not convinced that they are doing good work.

Es-tu persuadé qu’ils fassent du bon travail ?
Are you convinced that they’re doing good work?
