Does estimer require the subjunctive?
Estimer may require the subjunctive, depending on whether it is used affirmatively, negatively, or interrogatively:
Par exemple…
J’estime que son témoignage est exact.
I consider that his testimony is accurate.Je n’estime pas que son témoignage soit exact.
I don’t consider his testimony to be accurate.Estimez-vous que son témoignage est / soit exact ? (optional subjunctive)
Do you consider his testimony to be acccurate?
