As AI takes over content creation (and endless other tasks and activities), it’s natural to wonder whether I’m using it here at Lawless French. The short answer is: a tiny bit. For the long answer, keep reading.
I have been writing French lessons for the internet since ’99 (15 years at About, then here at LF since 2014). I have always written my own lessons and the vast majority of other content (reading comprehension, study tips, etc). For features that I don’t create personally, like listening exercises, I always credit the creator.
The one thing I use AI for, occasionally, is research. Even then, I make sure to confirm the information and rewrite it à la LKL before I publish it. The only way that AI has changed the way I work is by adding another place to perform research, not by replacing anything.
(I tried creating images two or three times, but they were never quite right, so I never published them and I’ve stopped trying.)
I do promote a couple of AI chatbots (Aimigo and LanguaChat) because they solve certain issues faced by some language learners (social anxiety, lack of time or mobility), but I definitely don’t recommend them over speaking with actual people – they’re simply a useful addition to your French-learning arsenal.
Bref, no, www.LawlessFrench.com is not, and will never be, written by anyone other than a human (me).
