Usage notes: The expression toutes tranches d’âge confondues combines people of all ages into a single group. It can be general, referring to literally all ages, or it can be used within a subset, such as children of all ages. It has a slightly formal nuance and so tends to be used in documentation and statistics more than in everyday language.

Similar but not synonymous expression: toutes les tranches d’âge
Literally, "all age groups," toutes les tranches d’âge considers each age group as a separate entity. This expression is more casual and is commonly found in everyday French.

Toutes … confondues can also be used with other nouns: toutes compétitions confondues (across all competitions), toutes entreprises confondues (all businesses combined), etc.
