Usage notes: Un rendez-vous is an appointment or date.

Par exemple…

J’ai un rendez-vous à huit heures.		I have an appointment at 8am.
C’est notre troisième rendez-vous.		It’s our third date.

Être au rendez-vous means "to be on time" or "to arrive as expected," both literally …

J’espère que Daniel sera au rendez-vous.		I hope Daniel will be on time.
La famille était au rendez-vous.		The family arrived as expected.

… and figuratively:

J’espère que le soleil sera au rendez-vous pour la fête.		I hope the sun will come out for the party; I hope it will be a sunny day for the party.
Les résultats souhaités ne sont pas au rendez-vous.		The hoped-for results have not materialized.
