NG

French pronunciation

The letter combination ng at the end of a French word is pronounced the same way as in English. IPA symbol: [ ŋ ].

When followed by one or more letters, the n is nasal and the g follows the normal rules.

  • ng + consonant or hard vowel = g is hard
  • ng + soft vowel = g is soft.
