A classic way to practice your language skills is by translating passages from one language to another. Take a look at this selection of resources and put your translation skills to work, in both directions.
There is virtually always more than one way to translate any given word or phrase, so don’t worry if your translation doesn’t exactly match the one provided: it probably won’t. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s wrong – use common sense to recognize synonyms and different ways to explain the same thing.*

These free exercises show French passages with the English translation hidden. Try writing or typing your translation in a text document, then reveal the English so you can compare your translation to mine.
