  • rester égal à soi-même – to be true to form
  • toutes choses égales par ailleurs – all else being equal

 Égal has regular feminine and feminine plural forms (égale / égales), but an irregular masculine plural: égauxlearn more.

Il n’est pas ton égal. – He is not your equal.

Expressions

  • à l’égal de – just like, the same as
  • se parler d’égal à égal – to speak as equals
  • sans égal – peerless, matchless, unequaled
