N

French consonant

The letter N at the beginning of any word or syllable is pronounced like the English N, except that it is dental rather than alveolar (see consonant lesson, "place of articulation"). Phonetic symbol: [n].

N after a vowel usually makes that vowel nasal, unless the n is followed by a vowel or another n.
