Translation

Translation

What is Beaujolais Nouveau? In fact, it’s an idea that begain in the 1950s, 1951 to be precise. Before that date, wine could only be marketed after 15 December, and Beaujolais growers requested authorization to be able to market wines a little sooner and so they were given authorization to market starting in November.

Translation

So, Beaujolais is (made from) the grape variety Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc (literally, black Gamay with white juice). They are celebratory wines, they’re gourmet wines, very aromatic but [with] two or three aromas, especially simple aromas, of berries, of flowers, there you go, it’s very simple.

Translation

So, sometimes you’ll have these banana aromas that are often criticized. In fact, they’re due to artificial yeassts in carbonic macerations, so maybe slightly more industrial wines, there you go. You should, if you don’t like (that), uh maybe avoid them.

Translation

We prefer Beaujolais (made with) traditional maceration and it’s an excellent wine, it can be an excellent wine with deli meats, cold meats. It’s really a party wine, a celebratory wine. So happy Beaujolais Nouveau Day to everyone and we’ll see you soon on le Petit Ballon.

* He mistakenly pronounces a [z] sound here, perhaps thinking for a moment to make a liaison with artificielles even though the next word is levures.
