C’est vrai que les boulangeries, comme les autres magasins, sont moins nombreuses aujourd’hui, mais celles qui restent—et il y en a beaucoup—sont presque toujours pleines de monde. Bien qu’il soit possible d’acheter sa baguette au supermarché avec tout le reste de sa liste de courses, la plupart des gens préfèrent s’arrêter une deuxième fois pour acheter du pain.
Translation

It’s true that bakeries, like other shops, are less numerous today, but the ones that remain—and there are a lot—are almost always full of people. Though it is possible to buy your baguette at the supermarket with the rest of your shopping list, most people prefer to stop a second time to buy bread.

Translation

Among the bakeries that remain, there are some that reduce costs by using cheaper ingredients, like margarine instead of butter, or inferior chocolate. If this concerns you, watch out for bakeries that don’t specify what they use somewhere. Bakers who continue using traditional ingredients announce it proudly on the door or inside, and of course the word "artisanal" is always a good sign.

* Bien qu’il suive directement le nom féminin « culture », l’adjectif « français » n’est pas au féminin – pourquoi ? Parce qu’il modifie deux mots : « culture » aussi bien que le nom masculin « régime ». En cas de genres mélangés, c’est toujours le masculin qui l’emporte.
Translation

*Even though it directly follows the feminine noun culture, the adjective français is not in the feminine – why? Because it’s modifying two words: culture as well as the masculine noun régime. In case of mixed genders, it’s always the masculine that wins out.
