– Bonsoir, Juliette !

– Bonsoir ! Comment s’est passĂ©e votre soirĂ©e ?

– Très bien ! Nous sommes allĂ©s au cinĂ©ma, le film Ă©tait très drĂ´le ! Puis, nous sommes allĂ©s dans un restaurant italien très bon ! Comment ça s’est passĂ© avec les enfants ?

Translation

– Good evening, Juliette!

– Good evening! How was your evening?

– Very nice! We went to the movies, the movie was very funny! Then, we went to a very good Italian restaurant! How did it go with the kids?

– Très bien ! Au dĂ©but, quand vous ĂŞtes partis, Nicolas a un peu pleurĂ©, mais on a jouĂ© aux voitures et il s’est calmĂ©.

– Et Charlotte ? Elle n’a pas pleurĂ© ?

– Non, Charlotte, elle est grande maintenant. Elle a Ă©tĂ© très sage ! Elle est très gentille avec son petit frère.

Translation

– Very well! At first, when you left, Nicolas cried a bit, but we played with cars and he calmed down.

– And Charlotte? She didn’t cry?

– No, Charlotte is big now. She behaved very well! She’s very kind to her little brother.

– Ils ont bien mangĂ© ?

– Oui, pour le dĂ®ner, je leur ai prĂ©parĂ© une omelette au jambon, du riz, une soupe et pour le dessert je leur ai donnĂ© les glaces que vous m’aviez prĂ©parĂ©es. Ils Ă©taient ravis !

– Très bien ! Et ils se sont couchĂ©s Ă  quelle heure ?

– Après le dîner, on a regardé un dessin animé à la télé, puis ils se sont lavé les dents, on a lu un livre et ils ont éteint à neuf heures moins le quart.

Translation

– Did they eat well?

– Yes, for dinner, I made them a ham omelette, rice, soupe, and for dessert I gave them the ice creams that you’d prepared for me. They were thrilled!

– Very good! And what time did they go to bed?

– After dinner, we watched a cartoon on TV, then they brushed their teeth, we read a book, and they turned off the light at quarter to nine.

– Parfait ! Ă€ propos, vous ĂŞtes libre jeudi prochain ? Nous sommes invitĂ©s chez des amis Ă  dĂ®ner.

– Euh, oui, pas de problème. Jeudi, je peux.

– Parfait. Alors, on vous attend Ă  sept heures du soir Ă  la maison, d’accord ?

– D’accord.

Translation

– Perfect! By the way, are you free next Thursday? We’re invited to our friends’ house for dinner.

– Uh, yes, no problem. Thursday, I can.

– Perfect. So, we’ll wait for you at 7pm at the house, OK.?

– OK.

– Je vais vous payer… Tenez.

– Merci !

– Vous voulez que je vous raccompagne, Juliette ?

– Non merci, je rentre Ă  vĂ©lo. Au revoir !

– Oui, Ă  jeudi alors !

Translation

– I’ll pay you… Here.

– Thank you!

– Do you want me to go with you, Juliette?

– No, thank you, I’m biking home. Good-bye!

– Yes, until Thursday then!
