Bonjour les Francophiles !
If this is your first visit, please take a look at Welcome to Lawless French.
There are several different ways you can find out about new features, the best and most reliable of which is my twice-weekly newsletter, which will deliver links to the latest lessons and features right to your inbox every Tuesday and Friday (plus the occasional Sunday supplement):
Lawless French newsletter archives
Lawless French à fond
I also publish a separate newsletter every other Sunday. Unlike the regular 2x-weekly newsletter, each issue of Lawless French à fond focuses on a single topic – learn more or subscribe:

À bientôt !
I often visit your website, but it seems to be aimed at the advanced student (which I’m not), so many of my answers to the quizzes are wrong. Right now, I think I should be learning basic principles. Learning the nuances should come later. Ai-je tort ?
Bonjour Robert,
My site has lessons for all levels. Have you looked at my French for beginners section? https://www.lawlessfrench.com/learn-french/french-for-beginners/
You might also like to try Progress with Lawless French, which will analyse your responses to a thorough placement test (70 questions, but you can submit once you get to questions that are consistently too difficult) and create a personalized study plan: https://progress.lawlessfrench.com
Hi Laura. I followed you for many years on about com and was thrilled to find your new site. I studied French in college and in France back in the late 70’s/early 80’s and I don’t want to lose it. Your lessons (especially the listening comprehension and idiomatic expressions) are just wonderful. Merci beaucoup Laura!
Laura it was really providential to find your free web lessons even when you were still with About com. You are always for me an excellent reference and help to learning french. I’m a Filipino missionary in France for already 2 years however my french is still very poor both written and spoken. Thank you very much for the generous service. May God bless you hundredfold.
Happy to be with you again, Laura. Much success in your new endeavor. I’d be lost without your French lessons. Bien que j’ai grandi dans une famille française, je peux toujours apprendre de nouvelles choses à partir de votre site.
Merci pour votre aide afin que nous puissions en apprendre plus. C’est très gentil.
Have been on About com for many years. Happy to continue to follow you
Really impressed with the work you are doing. Your commitment and tenacity makes me inspired to learn your beautiful language.

Bonjour Laura, Bravo! Bon chance with your new site. You have provided a valuable resource and I love to get your emails which encourage me to keep my French going….you explain things so well that you make it seem easy. Keep up the wonderful inspiration.
Kind regards, Angela.
Un matin des montagnes russes upon reading that Laura’s time with About com had ended (the low) only to then find this new and exciting site (the high).
How can we (your loyal followers) best support you here (beyond subscribing and following on Google+, Facebook, etc.)?
Bonjour Daniel, welcome to Lawless French! If you click “support Lawless French,” just below the logo, you’ll see there are two options. Thanks for asking! 🙂
I’m a French Immersion Teacher On Call and for the past 2 years I have thoroughly appreciated your regular & frequent incoming emails & website as a fantastic resource both for myself and sharing with my students. Such useful content & variety. I especially enjoyed challenging myself with the numerous quizzes you’ve provided as a part of my on-going French Language ProD! Always learning something & refreshing that which I’ve forgotten. Will definitely miss receiving all those emails. I agree with what others have posted so far – well done Laura! Merci beaucoup et bonne chance!
I wish you the very best in your new endeavor. I know it will be a success. I’ve learned a great deal from your first website.
I have been enjoying your lessons for the last several years and I am looking forward to the continual improvement of my skills with your assistance. I am glad that I can now contribute to the upkeep of your site and continual lessons.
Bonjour Laura. Loving the look of your new site. Thanks for all your help in the past & looking forward to sharing & enjoying the future with you. From a very happy resident of Beautiful Brittany.
I have been enjoying your French lessons in the past. I am learning French (and using it on the job) but sadly I live in a country whose official language is English, among others – a real challenge!! Your articles have been my main method of keeping in touch with the practical use of the language – I read each one of them and save for future reference. I now look forward to continuing this journey with you as you move on. All the best!
Good on you, Laura! Go for it! And thanks for such high quality and thoughtful pieces so far.
I want to thank you for all the support and knowledge you have given me in order to continue brushing up the language I adore. I wish you the best now at your new site and I will definitely continue following your uplifting lessons. Merci beaucoup.
Bonne chance Laura et félicitation pour ta website nouvelle. I guess that french right there stinks!
Je viens d’arrive de la France. Vingt-cinq jours. Paris, Val de Loire (Chinon, Saumur, …), et Nice. Menton était comme tu as dit. Mais, malheureusement, tu n’y étais plus!!!! Hyères était trop loin. Tant pis.

Just a quick question – Will the content that you had previously posted on the french about com website remain there, or would that be moved to the lawlessfrench.com website?
About retains the copyright to that content, so it will stay there. I will be writing all new content for Lawless French.
Your postings on About com have been invaluable in my small efforts to learn French in the swamps of South Carolina. All the best to you on your new site, which I will definitely follow!
Bonne chance. J’ai trouvé les leçons et les articles excellent !
Bon continuité.
