French has so many different personal pronouns and adjectives that it can be difficult to remember what they all mean and who goes with what. Here are all of the second person singular personal pronouns and adjectives with examples and links to lessons.

Subject pronoun tu      
  Où es-tu ? Where are you?
         
Reflexive pronoun te t’    
  Tu te parles.
Tu dois t’asseoir.
You’re talking to yourself.
You need to sit down.
         
Direct object pronoun te t’    
  Il te connaît.
Je t’aime.
He knows you.
I love you.
         
Indirect object pronoun te t’    
  Je te parle.
Il t’envoie un cadeau.
I’m talking to you.
He’s sending you a present.
         
Stressed pronoun toi      
  C’est pour toi. It’s for you.
         
Possessive pronouns le tien la tienne les tiens les tiennes
  Ce sont les tiens. These are yours.
         
Possessive adjectives ton ta tes  
  Voilà ton papa.
Je connais ta sœur.
Il aime tes idées.
There’s your dad.
I know your sister.
He likes your ideas.
