The future perfect is a compound verb form, which means its conjugation has two components:

  verb conjugation
1. auxiliary (avoir or être) future
2. main verb past participle

Par exemple…

Avoir verb: donner (to give)

j’aurai donné
tu auras donné
il aura donné
elle aura donné
nous aurons donné
vous aurez donné
ils auront donné
elles auront donné

Être verb: sortir (to go out)

je serai sorti(e)
tu seras sorti(e)
il sera sorti
elle sera sortie
nous serons sorti(e)s
vous serez sorti(e)(s)
ils seront sortis
elles seront sorties

Pronominal verb: s’habiller (to get dressed)

je me serai habillé(e)
tu te seras habillé(e)
il se sera habillé
elle se sera habillée
nous nous serons habillé(e)s
vous vous serez habillé(e)(s)
ils se seront habillés
elles se seront habillées

  Past participle agreement

As in all compound conjugations, the past participle in the future perfect may need to agree in gender and number with the word it modifies – learn more.
