Register normal
Pronunciation [da(n) leu kadr(eu)]
IPA   [dã lə kadʁə]

Usage notes: Cadre is one of those French words with a great many meanings. The most basic is "frame," in the sense of a physical structure (e.g., bike frame) as well as the rectangle that surrounds a photo or painting. By extension, le cadre means "scope" as in figurative limits. So the French expression dans le cadre de describes something within the limits of a particular context or framework.

Par exemple…

dans le cadre de ce contrat, livre, projet   within the scope of this contract, book, project
dans le cadre des réformes   in the context of the reforms
dans le cadre des revendications   in the context of the claims
dans le cadre du festival   within the scope of the festival
dans le cadre juridique, économique   within the legal, economic framework

Dans le cadre de can also mean "as part of" or, loosely translated, "to involve":

Dans le cadre de mes recherches, je …   As part of my research, I …
Dans le cadre de mon travail, je …   As part of my work, I … / My work involves …
